This week we came across a natural skincare and wild fragrance company called Hæckels. Handcrafted with natural ingredients, they ‘Explore Our Connection To The Ocean’.

As well as the natural ingredients they use, we were impressed by their Eco Balm, which has packaging that is 100% compostable and in a glassine sack. They were disappointed by the production ethos of many larger skincare companies, they wanted to create simple handcrafted products with packaging doesn’t cost the earth.

Most metal hand cream tubes have an inner plastic liner to stop the product and metal interacting, but this plastic lining effects the recyclability of those hand balms.

The packaging for this Eco Balm leaves no trace – it’s 100% compostable and refillable.


 

Hæckels have made this buttery hand balm from bladderwrack seaweed extract and marine extract, and for a calming and soothing effect, they have added fragrant coastal flowers including geranium and lavender oils.
