Story mfg
For our latest MONC Monday feature, we're looking down south to Brighton at designers Saeed & Katy and their brand STORY mfg. Within their manifesto, Saeed and Katy discuss how STORY was born "out of a desire for a more authentic, fulfilling and kind approach to fashion" which "doesn't involve a trade-off between aesthetics and consciousness". They want to use STORY to create positive change and a better future and believe that fashion is an excellent avenue through which people can participate in social activism.
STORY have a very considered approach to their designs. Alongside ensuring that their products are natural and organic, they also use a plethora of natural ingredients to dye their garments such as Sappan Wood, Babul Bark and Vembadam.
The fashion world is arguably one of the most polluting and unsustainable industries there is, so it's great to see fellow brands such as STORY have such a slow and mindful approach to their brand and is something we need to see more of.
