This week our focus has been on zero waste - as we are working towards a closed loop system, where we reuse and recycle as much of our waste as possible, from our workshops past, present and future production cycles. That's when we came across an inspiring designer whose work is successful in producing zero waste. Fernando Laposse, a London based Mexican designer, creates projects that are informative on topics such as sustainability, the loss of biodiversity, migration and the negative impacts of global trade in local agriculture and food culture.
Fernando specialises in transforming natural materials into refined design pieces. He works with plant fibres such as loofah, and corn leaves in an approach that supports a circular economy, minimising waste and creates a positively reinforcing loop.
