Every frame we design is inspired by a creative neighbourhood from around the world, those enchanting places you stumble across or get introduced to by locals. It's been a while since we posted an Insider's Guide, and now everything has opened a little more, we wanted to share our guide around the eclectic neighbourhood of Monti, the place that inspired our Monti frame.

In the heart of Rome, you'll find the neighbourhood of Monti, busy with bars, shops and traditional restaurants, loved by a loyal local crowd. With endless architecture, craft, fashion and restaurants tucked away in narrow street, every corner of this artsy neighbourhood inspired the elegant and subtle flair of our Monti frame.

MERCATO MONTI URBAN MARKETS

Mercato Monti Urban Market is a great place to do some vintage shopping as well as to check out new Italian designers. Fashion, accessories, illustrations, artworks and much more are showcased by the designers and artists themselves.

STUDIO SLICE

STUDIOSILICE is located in the heart of picturesque Monti neighbourhood, whose beauty lies in the vitality and creativity of the people who work here. Young Italian artists and artisans' workshops that have been handed down from one generation to another. Here, between the famous Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore and the Colosseum, in is a building where these artists work and display their products. So have a wonder in and admire the 'Art Glass Design' that is handmade in Italy.

LA CASETTA

La Casetta is popular with the locals in Monti. This little house sits in a quiet area of Monti, perfect for a relaxing morning with friends and enjoy a spot of breakfast. The artisan café also serves lunch in the form of schiacciate - stuffed pizza, rustici - salty flaky pastries, and fresh salads and fruit. If you’re looking for something simple and genuine, La Casetta is the place to be in Monti.

VIA PANISPERNA

Wonder along Via Panisperna with a spectacular view of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore sandwiched between 19th-century apartment buildings, palazzos, the elevated Church of San Lorenzo in Panisperna and many artisan stores.

La Carbonara

After a walk and an aperitivo in the Via Panisperna, you will discover one of the most famous restaurants in town, La Carbonara. Founded in 1906, this typical Osteria Romana will welcome you with fresh, seasonal and authentic Italian food. Every day a new traditional specialty is prepared, so Carbonara is a must visit when in Monti.


We took inspiration from the Italian spirit which represents this frames namesake district in Rome, to create a design that is full of thoughtfully subtle detailing, and packed with flair.
