We've been inspired by Interiors giant IKEA's innovate solution to a real environmental issue. Their latest product to combat pollutants in our homes is a mineral coated curtain fabric which works in a similar way to photosynthesis. Developed internationally over several years, this fabric filters micropollutants to help us all breathe a little easier.

Four designers from London's Royal College of Art have recycled the toxic red mud residue from aluminium production to make a series of terracotta-hued cups, bowls and teapots. The project aims to find the value in "waste" by recycling the industrial by-product into a sustainable alternative to raw materials.
