If you wear your MONCs daily they have the potential to get exposed to a fair bit of wear and tear, but with the right care, you can keep them looking good as new.

Read on for our top four frame care tips.

Take your glasses off with two hands
1. Take them on and off with two hands

This may sound like a strange one, but taking your glasses off single handily is one of the easiest ways to mess with the fit. It tends to create a pull in one direction or another and when done repeatedly, it can start to make the temples crooked just like they are in the picture below. Using two hands keep the temples even and comfortable.

Taking your glasses off with one hand or wearing them on your head can make the temples wonky.
2. Refrain from wearing your glasses on your head

We know this is a hard one to follow. Using your glasses to keep your hair out of your face is not only practical, but it also looks great too. Sadly the effects are quite the opposite for your glasses. Wearing your beloved glasses as an impromptu headband can stretch out the temples and flatten the frame front. Resist the urge where possible!

Store your glasses in your case to keep them in the best condition
3. When they’re not on your face, keep them in their case

If you don't use your case, your glasses are far more likely to get scratched, squashed or grubby. Nobody wants that, so be sure to use your case.

Clean your glasses after every wear.
4. Clean them after each wear

Cleaning your glasses is just like house work, it's easier to do it little and often rather than letting it accumulate.

At the end of each day, your frame is bound to have a few smudgy finger marks. Luckily, we gave you a beautiful organic cotton Selvyt cloth to clean it with.

Use your cloth as it is or alongside some glasses spray and don’t forget to give it a little wash every now and then. We put ours in the machine at 40 degrees and it came out cleaning even better than it did before.

And that’s it!

Following these tips should help you keep your MONCs in top condition, but over a long period of time, it’s natural for your frame to warp out of shape slightly, suffer a small scratch or accumulate a bit of grime from daily life.

It’s nothing that we can’t fix. Stop by our store for a frame refurbishment service and we’ll have the looking good as new. Polished, reshaped and screws tightened.

We hope you enjoy your MONCs!

Please note: We offer one complimentary refurbishment per frame within the first year of purchase. For frames purchased more than a year ago, this service is £50.
